How to open command prompt in Windows 8

Command prompt, officially called Windows Command Processor is a command-line interpreter application which is very useful tool for the developers to quickly execute applications and commands.

Windows 8 has two modes – the new Metro mode and the old traditional Windows mode.

Launch or Open command prompt in Windows 8 – new Metro mode:

Hit “WIN+Q” key from the keyboard to launch the “Apps search bar” and then type “cmd”. You will see Command Prompt in the results. Click it to launch a Windows command prompt.

Open command prompt by starting(double click) the cmd.exe in the windows system32 folder:

Open Windows Explorer. Navigate to the folder C:WindowsSystem32 and look for the application cmd.exe and double click on it.

Hit “WIN+X” and select “Run”. Now type “cmd” in Run dialog search text box and click OK.

Microsoft launching Office 2013 on 29 January 2013

Microsoft is going to launch the latest version of Office, according to a tweet from the official Microsoft’s Office Twitter account posted over the weekend. The tweet also contains a picture of what Microsoft is setting up in New York City’s Bryant Park for launch day, specifying January 29 as the day of the event.

The new version of Microsoft Office 2013 represents a re-think of the productivity software. Microsoft re-designed Office for Windows 8, changing aspects of the design, features and back end to better support the world of touchscreens, cloud connectivity and social networks. Although the new Office is designed for Windows 8 machines but actually its not just a Windows 8 app, it can also be installed and used on traditional desktop environment, even on Windows RT devices.

Microsoft Office 2013 will cost $140 for the Home & Student Edition with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. A Home & Business edition, which includes Outlook, costs $220, and a Professional edition with Publisher and Access costs $400.

Microsoft is also changing the way of selling the Microsoft Office 2013. When a customer buys Office, they will be able to download it and install it on up to five machines. A subscription also includes 20 GB of SkyDrive storage and 60 minutes per month of Skype calls and updates for new versions of the apps.

Improvements in Office 2013

Office 2013 has a new look, in line with the “Modern-style” aesthetic of Windows 8. Microsoft has included a “Touch Mode” that makes Office easier to use on Windows 8 tablets. It includes a new “Read Mode” in Word for viewing documents without distractions, built-in PDF editing, additional analysis tools in Excel and tighter integration with Web services such as SkyDrive and Facebook.

How to Add Comment on Instagram photos:

  • Sign in to your Instagram account.
  • Browse for your favorite photo from the feeds or search your favorite users photos.
  • Click on the “Talk caption” icon at the bottom left of the image.
  • Write down your comment in the comment box and tap “send” after finishing the comment.
  • Done! You just commented on a photo.

Cannot add a comment?

If you are receiving an error while posting a comment, you might be using an outdated version of Instagram. In order to post a comment, you must be running at least Instagram version 2.4 on your Apple device or version 1.0.5 on your Android device. If your version of Instagram is latest and still getting the error then your comment may be failing for a different reason.

There are a few reasons why comments may fail:

  • You can only include up to 5 @ mentions in a single comment.
  • You cannot post multiple, duplicate comments.

These guidelines are made to reduce spam on Instagram. Whenever you post a comment that comes under any of these two categories above, you will receive a pop-up warning prompting you to learn more or delete your comment. Instagram is also filtering certain words and phrases. These changes encourage more genuine interactions between users.

How to Delete Comments on Instagram Photos:

To delete your own comments on the others photos, follow these steps:

  • Browse for the photo you have commented on and possibly want your comment to be deleted from the comment feed of the photo. Click on the “Talk caption” icon at the bottom left of the image to get to the comments feed.
  • Click on the “Edit” option to get options for deletion.
  • Search for your comment in the feed and click the “cross” icon besides your comment to delete your comment.
  • Upon clicking an option for deletion will occur. Just click the “Delete” button and you are done. If you have more comments then similarly keep on deleting them by following the above steps.
  • Done! You deleted your own comment on a photo.

To delete spam and useless comments on your own photos, follow the steps:

  • Get to your photo from your user page. Choose the photo from whose comment feeds you want to delete a comment. Click on the “Talk caption” icon at the bottom left of the image to get to the comments feed.
  • Click on the “Edit” option to get options for deletion.
  • Search for the spam or useless comment in the feed and click the “cross” icon besides that comment to delete that comment.
  • Upon clicking you will get options for deleting and also an option for reporting the comment. Click delete to delete the comment and if you want to delete and report the comment then click the other option “Delete and report abuse” to do both.
  • Done! You just got your photos rid of spam and unnecessary comments.

Cannot delete a comment?

If you keep getting an error message that a comment cannot be deleted, it may be because the comment was already deleted from the system. The comment may still appear because you’re viewing a “cached” or old version of the page. Instagram is aware of this issue and is working on a fix.

Note: You are only able to delete your own comments on a photo or comments on your own photo. You cannot delete another user’s comments on a photo that is not yours.

Apple iOS Devices

1. Tap the “comment” button below the photo.
2. Swipe your finger to the right over the comment you’d like to delete in order to reveal a trash can icon & a reply icon.
3. Tap the trash can icon and select to Delete & Report Abuse or Delete.

Android Devices

1. Tap the “comment” button below the photo.
2. Tap the pencil icon in the top right corner of the comments screen.
3. Tap the red “X” button next to the comment you’d like to delete, then “Delete”. Your comment will be deleted.
